Oh gods, this sounds a little like me. I remember when I first got Apache running. Nevermind that I couldn’t do a single frickin’ thing with it (it took me about 6 months to figure out the benifits of running Apache as just “localhost”). The first thing I went and did was tell dad, who was like “So?” and then Matt, who got it too. I’m now having another similar experience with my FreeBSD. I can do things; and it’s fun. Even if they’re not terribly exciting things — for example, most of yesterday was spent rewriting the text that comes up when I login — I can still do them.
By the way, the Project’s going soon (read: When I Get Around to It), and is going to be replaced with something new. Actually, don’t get too excited — we’re just really changing titles and addresses, but a change is as good as a holiday, they say.
