starfyre’s 403 ring has inspired me to once again overhaul my own error pages. I noticed starfyre was using PHP error pages, which is something I’ve been trying to do for ages with no success (in the past it always gave me 500 errors, no matter how I tried to swing it). Anyway, I emailed starfyre about how she did it — no tricks, just .htaccess — so I went back and tried again… and, magic! It worked!
Yay, so now I have leet PHP’d error pages that actually log errors in a table so I can see who is getting them and from where (unfortunatley the way Apache rewrites URIs for errors means I can’t currently get what script they were trying to get it, but there must be a way to do it, so I’ll flick through Apache and/or PHP stuff later when I could be arsed). Now I just need to make a neat little file that prints out the errors in the same way the hit tracker does. But not right now, it’s 3am.
For the obscenely curious, the error pages are here: 400, 401, 403, 404, 500. Yeah, they all have the same picture. I might do some different ones later when I could be arsed.
In other news, I’m playing World of Warcraft again (the horror). Yup.
This song is so damn infectious. And the little thing at the end about driving safely (“is that your eyeball on my dress?”) is pretty funny… the first few times, at least.
