Brilliant new plan!
A while ago I blocked people browsing sk.log with null-browser types. At the time, it was an anti-spam measure, but it didn’t really seem to block a lot of spam. What it did totally turn off was trackbacks. And it’s not like I actually get trackbacks in the first place (on account of not knowing anyone who has a blog that does them), but nevertheless. Trackbacks are a wonderful spamming technology, but they are also occasionally used legitimatley so…
A password! A query string password in order to be able to post trackbacks. Dee, you’re so brilliant.
So now sk.log requires a password in order to post trackbacks… I think. I really need to install a WordPress somewhere in order to test it out, or something. I love random untested tinkering on production sites.
