The House

So yesterday when I was out at The House1 I took some photos. Here they are, just for you guys, because I love you. Click on each photo for more witty commentary, because I couldn’t be arsed typing it all out twice.

So anyway, as you can see; when they say the house is in ‘original condition’ they’re not kidding. Nevertheless, we saw a lot of dives on our house-hunt and this place definitely isn’t it. It needs doing up, but the actual house underneath the neglect is good. A new coat of paint, some new doorknobs, taps, curtains and lights, a re-polish of the floor and new carpet upstairs and we’ve got ourselves our hyper-modern McMansion. Well, mostly. It’s actually kind of ironic that the colour scheme that the designer has come up with is pretty much identical to what’s there already, only… the modern version; dark brown carpets, white walls picked out with green, frosted glass and brushed chrome. Sure, it’ll look dated in ten years but, well, so will everything.

It’ll also be hard work. Oh well; it’s like exercise, only incidental.

In other news, the batPod arrived yesterday and it totally kicks the shit out of everything.

Also, this song makes me feel old. When I was down in Melbourne I was watching some videoclips show on the community access channel. One of the presenters mentioned it, but got both the name and the band wrong (hint: it’s not called “the mammal song”). Which of course made me feel immediately ancient since I can remember the time when it was a chart hit with airplay every five minutes. It wasn’t that long ago, surely?

Shit.

  1. Technically a townhouse, but bear with me. ^

    First-

Me: “Check this out! This is Dee’s new kitchen.”
Chris: “What the fuck, look at that stove. Ask her if she likes microwaving her food in her oven.”

I love your beer bottle glass panes, but have a feeling (particularly due to your commentary) that your camera dresses those up quite a bit.

    Second-

I have such fond memories of the dj at my junior prom boldly playing “The Bad Touch”, and my (at the time) boyfriend and myself trying to see how closely together we could wriggle on the dance floor before a wandering chaperon could separate us. Being teenagers and all.

I was always surprised that our radio stations would play that song untampered anyway, considering they blotted out some “suggestive words” in “Yummy Down on This” and downright refused everything else off of that album. But they were still playing “The Roof is on Fire”! Haha, oh man.

And because I haven’t yet found an excuse to say it in this entire comment, Hooray For Boobies!

    Mhm.
Would look good with what you said; fresh paint and some touch ups here and there.

    In other news.
I submitted an inquiry for hosting,
    but.
The problem is I’m not sure if I want to update my site until I found out if I have hosting.
    Er.
    If it is accepted;
I will update everything fully then.
    And if you hate it,
Destroy it. Burn it to the ground.
    Bwuahahaha.

You did not provide me with nearly enough information in your hosting request; I don’t even know what type of dream you want hosted, whether it has an established population, and so forth.

Essentially, I judge applicants on the quality of their dreams and their websites. You haven’t yet shown me competence in either.

Good point… granted, this organization is just starting up.
Also… the “upload and edit” part on 122mb is broken and won’t allow me to edit it.
The dream itself isn’t finished yet… but it will be. Mint Mink is working on the patches and Alabaster Sea will do the skin.
Still, that isn’t nearly as much information as you would need.
On Population? I’ve got about 12 “starting members”, plus me and my Taneest, Gurgi.
Type? Er, that’s a bit of a teaser. It’s a guild for hanging out and showing off dreams and art. Dream contests, art contests, even role playing contests at some point.
The reason I was starting up the website first, though, is because the dream is estimated to be done in November. Long way off. And I will be holding events between then- no doubt about it. Heck, we’ve already held a checkers tournament.
Er, so in all, I guess I would understand if you would deny the request, because the site right now is essentially nothing. Blasted “upload and edit” button. Foiled me again.

You’ll have to excuse me if I’m a little… dubious about that. >_>

            Pft.
I would see why you would be- go ahead. If you ever get on Furcadia again, ask Skadowee directly if “Eternally Dusk is commissioning the Mint Mink for patches.” She’ll say yes. Hard part is catching her online… Skadowee negotiates with Mint Mink for the patches.
Er… it did cost me 175 GD’s to get Mint Mink to do them… but, uh…
Oh, and Alabaster Sea. I haven’t commissioned him yet, I’m waiting til the patches are done.

It took me five months to save up all the dragonscales…
                Hopefully, it’ll be worth it.
Need any more proof? I’ll be happy to provide some.

Sarcasm is so the best way to get what you want. Don’t you agree?
