It’s Meme Monday today, huzzah! I got tagged by cathedral_junki, so…
Once you have been tagged, you have to write a blog with 10 random things, facts, goals, or habits about yourself. At the end, choose 10 anyone You think may answer – to be tagged, listing their names & why you chose them. Don’t forget to leave them a comment (you’re it!) and to read your blog for instructions. You can’t tag a person who has tagged you. Since you can’t re-tag me, let me know when you’ve posted your blog so I can read the answers!
Quoted From: 10 Things Meme
- I’m still scared of the dark. Actually, this isn’t strictly true; I’m scared of monsters in the dark, where “the dark” can also mean any brightly-lit room, depending on how paranoid I’m being. I know the fear is irrational (my main monster tends to be Pyramid Head, and I’m not under the impression he’s real or anything), but that doesn’t always help. Having Mat in the house does.
- My goal for this year is to finally get Chainbreaker published.
- Idly browsing the internet from the couch on my laptop while watching TV is like my most favouritist thing evah!
- I’m a chronic procrastinator. The best way to get me to work on something is to give me something else to do and say there’s a deadline. Even if it’s work I enjoy, I will procrastinate it off if I ‘have’ to do it.
- I care a lot more than I pretend I do. Related to this, I’m always baffled when I encounter ‘fans’; you can talk to me, guys, I’m not that scary! (Well, not any more I don’t think.) That being said, treating me like I’m more e-famous than I think I am does tend to turn me into a bit of a monster…
- I have a bad habit of dispensing dodgy advice when friends confide problems in me. I think I get it from my parents; an urge to dispense Sagacious Wisdom to try and make issues seem manageable. I’m never sure whether it’s helpful or I’m coming off like a cock… but I just can’t help it!
- I could never shave my head. Well, not that I would, but I have an obsessive-compulsive habit of picking at my scalp; it’s absolutely covered in unhealed scabs. Occasionally they get infected, and I’m treated to swollen glands and a headache for a few days. This is a fact I’m sure you were all absolutely dying to know.
- Anne Rice got me into slash. Before Lestat, I had no idea such a thing could exist. When I confessed my like of the Vampire Chronicles to a friend in college, she passed me Poppy Z. Brite, but I didn’t know about slash slash (or yaoi) until I went to a shounen-ai anime screening with _bluebells and necromage. I was terrified that I was the only one who, like, liked it. It wasn’t until later I discovered that they ran Noire Sensus, and everything started making sense.
- My first slash couple in an original series were Lokken and Sam from Et tu, Angelus?. The whole series was an emo teen backlash against losing almost all of my friends to fundamentalist Christianity, hence gay angels.
- I only have three real-life friends that I see on any regular basis, and that’s because Mat makes me. I’m such a hermit that I think if it weren’t for him I probably wouldn’t ever seen anyone. It’s not that I don’t like my friends or don’t enjoy seeing them when I do, it’s just that I’m hopeless at organising stuff and I worry that maybe I’m ‘intruding’ on people or something.
So, there you go. Ten facts you never wanted to know about Dee; hooray!
As for tagging, well, if you’re reading this, consider yourself tagged. Because I want to know all about you… mwahahahaha!
