Yarly! It seems the upload got magically corrupted somehow, but the raw PDF is fine so it’s their system that screwed it up.

Still, whether they’ll accept liability or not is a different matter… >_>

Seriously, though, they have to give you a refund. Did they even check what they’re printing? Or did they think it’s a super long spell that spans pages?

Nah, they don’t check; it’s all automated, which is the point behind this kind of low-end print-on-demand service.

The issue is that their text upload facility corrupted my otherwise pristine PDF; the only thing I can think of is because it was a .docx file I printed to PDF on a Mac. And if that’s giving it issues then… la-aa-ame. There is a way to review the interior contents before purchase but I guess it’s not terribly obvious unless you’ve done it before. So it’s kinda my fault (I should be the one checking, and I didn’t), but also theirs (their system fucked up).

So could go either way; depends on how they want to disclaim liability. /shrug

    Oh poops.

Have you started getting in touch with the relevant peeps to see if you can get some of your money back?

If my paypal account gets above 0 some time in the next millennium I’d be to chuck $10 your way to go towards reprinting (assuming you can’t get it re-done free). I know it’s not a lot but you know, state of the UK economy and everything ;)

Yeah, I sent ‘em a ticket being all like, “WTF?” Haven’t heard back yet.

See how things go; thank you very much for the offer, though. u_u
