Midnight Meme!

Stolen from severedscythe. Because the meme said so!

Comment and I will:

  1. Tell you why I friended you. (Or, like, some relevant equivalent for non-journal people.)
  2. Associate you with something; fandom, a song, a colour, a photo, a word, et cetera.
  3. Tell you something I like about you.
  4. Tell you a memory I have of you.
  5. Ask something I’ve always wanted to know about you.
  6. Tell you my favourite user pic of yours.

In return, you must post this in your LJ/DW/blog/whatever.

This startling lack of substance bought to you by past-my-bedtime.

      1. Because your blog had an awesome Lineage layout. It sure as shit kicked the crap out of the rest of the boring, samey, vector-art mommy blogs on BlogLines.
      2. Guild Wars and hot chicks!
      3. Your blog; you rant about MMORPGs and your layouts are freakin’ amazing. So much jealousy!
      4. Finding lean-forward.com for the first time. Look, it really stood out, okay! :P
      5. What’s your least favourite MMORPG and why?
      6. Uh… I guess this one doesn’t really apply. *coughs*

For two weeks I’ve been trying to decide which my least favourite MMORPG is, replaying the games, reading game reviews from various sources and all that…* and I’m still undecided between Lineage II and Granado Espada. I mean, both are grind games, level and equipment (i.e. time and money) equals everything; but the L2 world is gorgeous and the castle sieges are fun; but there’s also this super huge class imbalance so it’s usually impossible to solo and you need to pay to play. GE is free and seems to encourage solo play (which is how I prefer my PVE); but I don’t really see a purpose because the whole duelling thing doesn’t seem all that important or interesting, so nothing really justifies all that PVE grind.

I think GE has great potential, actually, if only they’d offer more PVE mission variety than “Kill [insert multiples of 10] [insert modifier] [insert monster name]” for normal missions and “Kill [insert multiples of 50] Elite [insert monster name]” for elite ones. Interesting gameplay concept, poorly executed, I guess. But who knows what I’d think about the game if I joined a friendlier faction and played on for 2+ years like I did with L2, eh?

Hell yes! I just wish WoW would let me play with a party of three! :P

On the other hand, there is kinda something wrong with a game that lets me camp one spot, walk away, let my characters autoattack, and walk back eight hours and a handful of levels later. ^^”
