After my various misadventures trying to get perl to connect to mySQL on port 22772 through a socket that wasn’t /tmp/mysql.sock (don’t ask), I installed phpMyAdmin v2.5.3-rc3 both locally, on banshee (don’t ask) and at void-star.net. For the first time in forever I also installed it properly. Unfortunately, this coupled with the fact that I almost sometimes pay attention in Databases means that I’ve gone through and done stupid shit with the database like optimize tables and add composite and foreign keys. Stupid.

I like playing with databases; they’re fun!

Now, who out there can explain to me what the cardinality of an index indicates?

Things to Do:

  • go to bed
  • write back to Haiminh
  • fix current duplication on post edit (duh!)
  • connect to socket
