New PostSecret up today. Though this person will never know, I can categorically state that it is not a delicious treat. When I was a very, very wee tyke I remember sitting over a shoebox with a friend of mine. We’d found a packet of sillica gel inside, and being all of about 3 were debating whether or not it was edible. We could read just enough to know that the packet had the letter S on it, and we knew of exactly two things that were white and powdery that came in packets and started with S; sugar and salt. Getting a mouthful of sugar would be totally worth the risk of it turning out to be salt, so eventually I was convinced to eat the contents of the packet.

Mum freaked out. We don’t have raibies here, but from what I’ve been told that’s pretty much what I looked like I had. Sillica gel, of course, is designed to dry stuff out and you know what your mouth is full of? Wet shit. You know what your mouth does when it suddenly finds itself divested of saliva? It starts making more. A lot more; gallons and gallons of foamy spit.

Eventually, mum figured out that sillica gel isn’t exactly poisonous, it’s just unplesant, so after much mouth-washing and drinking I felt better. Anyway, there are two morals to this story;

It’s not sugar; and,
Don’t trust a word the bastard says.

After years of not following developments in the blogsphere, I’ve finally poked my head up again. And become unfortunatley addicted to BlogExplosion. I like the whole Rent-a-Blog idea; one one level it’s kind of tacky, but I’ve been following sites for the last few hours that have all been part of the one ‘group’ of renters. It’s a nice community feel.

At least I’ve got some feeds to read now. Not to mention I will have to get the trackback client written for blog posts here since now I’ve actually found blogs with (gasp) trackbacks.
