So yesterday on a whim I went and picked up Pokémon Emerald.  I haven’t played a Pokemon game since Red first came out like a billionty years ago, and it has the distinction of being one of only a handful of console games I have ever actually finished (albeit on a ROM on the PC, as I didn’t have a GameBoy at the time).  I’d totally forgotten how stupidly fun Pokemon games are; especially for obsessive-compulsive types like yours truly who really do gotta catch ‘em all.

I remember a couple of years ago seeing a folder in the Wollongong EB featuring the ‘raver pubic-hair Pokemon’ and thinking that was the most hilariously awesome thing I’d ever seen.  So upon learning that it was actually the evolved form of the fire-type starting Pokemon, Torchic, I totally had to get one of those (even though it was tempting to get a Mudkip and name it ‘Moar’ like every other /b/tard out there).  So now me, Loki the Blaziken, Fenrir the Mightyena and Vesper the Skitty totally pwn up the Hoenn region.  Take that, Hoenn region.
